Our Mission & Vision:

About Us

Vulnerability and Professional Capital in the Pursuit of Equity

The mission of Frank M. Silvia Elementary School is to deliver a high-quality, equitable education that fosters the academic, social, and emotional development of all students, enabling them to reach their fullest potential as intrinsically motivated learners and critical thinkers. The school community emphasizes the importance of belonging and inclusivity, encouraging students to become engaged members of an ever-changing, diverse society while promoting lifelong learning and problem-solving skills. Through collaborative partnerships with families and staff, the school aims to educate the whole child and cultivate a sense of community that supports each student's growth and development.

Core Beliefs:

  • We believe all students are entitled to a respectful, caring, and safe learning environment where they are encouraged to take risks in order to grow academically, emotionally and socially.
  • We believe that recognizing and honoring diversity strengthens our ability to teach the whole child and build a sense of community.
  • We believe all students will develop the coping skills necessary to build self reliance, perseverance, and self awareness in order to become intrinsically motivated independent thinkers in a collaborative environment.
  • We believe mastery learning is best achieved when students have opportunities to apply skills in authentic situations.
